He added that digitalising the port operations system is the way forward and is in line with the International Maritime Organisation\u2019s requirement by January 2024. On his side, Minister Derjacques commended the SPA for the excellent works the Authority is undertaking to push towards realisation of the project. He also thanked the consultants from AfricaRise and InfoPort\/4SH for supporting the SPA by taking on-board the project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Minister Derjacques highlighted that the PVMIS project works hand in hand with the government digitalisation plans, calling for the automation of most operations and having a national database. The ceremony saw a series of presentations on the PVMIS project including the different phases. On behalf of the SPA, Dr Egbert Moustache, Deputy Chief Executive of the Authority, gave an overview and rationale of the project. This was followed by two other presentations; the first from AfricaRise\u2019s Lead Consultant, Mr Mario Hennequin, who explained the first phase of the project which is the Business Mapping Process (BMP), and the second presentation was done by Mr Etienne Blanchet, Consultant of InfoPort\/4SH, that will be undertaking the actual designing of the system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The PVMIS is expected to be fully operational by October this year coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Port Victoria.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Press release
