The purpose of this state-of-the-art equipment is twofold: to speed up container loading and unloading operations for both imports and exports, and to improve the throughput and management of the container fleet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the delivery of these machines, TC2, initially equipped with six gantry cranes with a span of 62 metres, thirteen electric park gantry cranes and thirty-six 100% electric tractors, now has eighteen electric park gantry cranes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This new ultra-modern equipment is even more powerful. They can store nine containers on the same line, compared with seven previously. Thanks to this competitive advantage, they will contribute to improving the productivity of the Port of Abidjan, boosting delivery rates, reducing goods handling times and revitalising trade by improving national and sub-regional logistics services.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Port of Abidjan&#8217;s second container terminal has been awarded the &#8220;Green Terminal&#8221; label, as its equipment is entirely powered by electricity. This reflects the environmental commitment and determination of the Port Autonome d&#8217;Abidjan (PAA) to reduce the ecological footprint of its activities by optimising the energy efficiency of its infrastructure and superstructure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thanks to the proactive vision of Mr Hien Yacouba SI\u00c9, Director General of the Port Autonome d&#8217;Abidjan, C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire Terminal, the concession-holder for TC2, is embarking on another important stage in its investment programme on the Abidjan port platform with the arrival of this new
