This meeting brought together experts and key decision-makers, providing a platform to examine the challenges and opportunities facing the maritime sector in Africa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This was an opportunity for Olivier Bichon, Capacity Building Expert for the GoGIN II project, to participate in a panel discussion on the impact of new technologies on the maritime sector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The emphasis was placed on the real-time utilisation of the YARIS platform, which enables the generation of automated maritime images illustrating certain illicit activities. This demonstration highlighted the suspicious activity of a refrigerated cargo vessel (reefer) involved in potential transshipment operations with fishing vessels in the Ivorian maritime space.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thus, the GoGIN II project remains a key player in promoting maritime security and sustainable development in Africa, while illustrating the necessity of integrating advanced technological solutions in the fight against illicit activities at sea.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Source :
