Neto Zarzar Lighe Sr., and Finland\u2019s Secretary of Maritime, Transport, and Communications, Madam Minna Kivim\u00e4ki, have reinforced ties between their countries following successful discussions on the sidelines of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) plenary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The high-level talks emphasized mutual cooperation, including Finnish investments in Liberia\u2019s emerging Blue Economy, technical training programs, information-sharing initiatives, and coordinated support at the IMO.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This meeting marks the second recent engagement between the maritime authorities of Liberia and Finland, highlighting their commitment to deepening collaboration. Earlier in August, Liberia\u2019s Permanent Representative to the IMO, Ambassador Robert Wilmont Kpadeh, visited Finland to explore investment opportunities in Liberia\u2019s maritime sector and advocate for training initiatives benefiting Liberian youth and women.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Finland and Liberia, both members of the IMO Council, have long shared a \u201cdependable friendship,\u201d as noted by Secretary Kivim\u00e4ki. She expressed Finland\u2019s eagerness to partner with Liberia in advancing maritime growth, innovation, and development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cLiberia remains a steadfast ally to Finland, and we are excited to shape a future of mutual benefit,\u201d said Kivim\u00e4ki. Her sentiments were echoed by Commissioner Lighe, Sr. who assured Finland of Liberia\u2019s unwavering commitment to the partnership.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A series of follow-up meetings with Finnish ship owners and marine investors are being planned for both countries, with further details expected soon.
