On Monday, January 20, 2025, the Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) and the Port Management Association of Eastern and Southern Africa (PMAESA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at strengthening maritime education and training while promoting mutual benefits for both institutions.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was attended by key officials from both organizations. Bandari Maritime Academy was represented by Deputy Director, Corporate Services Evans Oyeiyo, Head of Legal and Corporate Secretary Said Gongo, Academic Registrar Dr. Irene Mugo, Senior Principal Trainer, Nautical Science Maj. (Rtd) Franklin Toniok, Legal Officer Loy Lisa, Partnership and Resource Mobilization Officer, Fatma Mzee.<\/p>\n

PMAESA was represented by Administration Officer Hilda Gichunge, Finance officer Rozina Mwandawiro, Economist and Projects officer Ruth Muigai and Communication officer George Sunguh.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the event, Bandari Maritime Academy CEO, Dr. Eric Katana, emphasized that the MOU marks a milestone in the Academy’s journey toward advancing Maritime training and creating opportunities for cadets and students.<\/p>\n

PMAESA Secretary General, Col. Andre Ciseau, in his remarks, highlighted the importance of such collaborations in building capacity within the Maritime and port sectors of the region. He expressed PMAESA’s commitment to supporting BMA in delivering world-class Maritime education and fostering regional integration within the blue economy.<\/p>\n

This partnership underscores Bandari Maritime Academy’s commitment to becoming a leading center of excellence in Maritime and Blue Economy education and training. Through this MOU, the Academy aims to leverage PMAESA’s network and expertise to enhance its training programs and ensure its graduates are well-equipped to meet the demands of the global Maritime industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
