The Centre includes a 270-degree Full Mission Bridge Simulator, three 120-degree Part-Task Simulators, two Instructor Stations,\u00a0Briefing and Server Rooms and Offices for Instructors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ql-align-justify\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Guest of Honour and Legal Counsel to the President of the Republic, Ms. Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew-Opong expressed profound gratitude to the Danish Government for their commitment towards enhancing Ghana\u2019s maritime security and development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ql-align-justify\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">She said Denmark has been an invaluable partner, contributing significantly to strengthening maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea which is a vital corridor for global trade. \u201cThanks to international efforts and partnerships like this, we have seen significant improvements in combating piracy and maritime crimes,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/telechargement-5.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16986\" src=\"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/telechargement-5.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/telechargement-5.jpeg 1080w, https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/telechargement-5-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/telechargement-5-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/telechargement-5-768x512.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ql-align-justify\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ms Brew-Oppong expressed hope that the new facility would enhance maritime training, strengthen the Ghana Navy, and contribute to the country\u2019s overall maritime development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On his part, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu, emphasized on\u00a0the transformative impact of the facility saying\u00a0it will significantly enhance Ghana Navy\u2019s training programmes, and also personnel to master complex navigation and operational scenarios in a safe and controlled environment. He noted the project represents a leap forward in Ghana\u2019s maritime domain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ql-align-justify\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vice Admiral Yakubu also acknowledged Denmark\u2019s unwavering support, highlighting initiatives they have embarked on including the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)-supported \u201cShip-in-a-Box\u201d facility at NAVTRAC which is used for training maritime forces in the region and\u00a0addressing security threats.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ql-align-justify\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, he mentioned Denmark\u2019s contribution towards\u00a0the construction of a world-class swimming pool with diving capabilities for\u00a0Ghana Navy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ql-align-justify\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Deputy Chief of Navy of the Royal Danish Navy, Commodore (Cdre) BO Overgaard reaffirmed Denmark\u2019s dedication to addressing security challenges in the Gulf of Guinea. He emphasized the project ensures local ownership and serves as a model for sustainable development which will also enhance safety and prosperity in Ghana and the broader Gulf of Guinea region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ql-align-justify\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The facility, he said, allows for effective training without taking operational ships out of service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ql-align-justify\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) NAVTRAC, Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi also described the facility as a significant step forward in maritime training stating the Simulation Centre is not just an advanced technology but represents years of careful planning, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The FOC NAVTRAC said the venture solidifies NAVTRAC as a centre of excellence for the entire maritime community, expressing appreciation to the CNS for his astute leadership and to Denmark
