The fact that AGL is now operating the port is added value for the country. Since the start of the concession, the volumes handled have increased. We handled 30% more volume in our first year of operation,&#8221; explains David Reekmans, Managing Director of ALT.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8216;The presence of the American delegation in Lobito is an asset for boosting business partnerships and investment in the country,&#8217; said Manuel Nunes Junior, provincial governor of Benguela.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Secretary of State for Land Transport, Jorge Bengue, stressed the strategic role of the Lobito Corridor railway line, which stretches some 1,300 km to the border with the DRC, with the AGL terminal in the port of Lobito, as a gateway to the Atlantic and many other points around the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Port of Lobito is an Angolan port located in the city of Lobito, in the province of Benguela. The terminal&#8217;s operations are carried out by AGL Lobito Terminal&#8217;s 730 employees, as well as the handling equipment, information systems, container parks and conventional terminals of the multipurpose terminal.
