Total container handling in top 100 ports all in all reached 743.6 million TEU \u2013 measuring unit for containers\u2019 volume in 2024 with an increase of\u00a0 8.1% compared with previous year. The classification reveals continuation of Asian dominance over maritime trade; where Chinese ports come top of list and Singapore ports maintains their position amongst top 10 in the world. The report has also pointed out that maritime transport sector has witnessed important changes in recent years , with concentration on improving ports\u2019 efficiency and developing the infrastructure and enhancing digital role and environment sustainability<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0This assures the great development in Egyptian ports capabilities, with regards to infra-structure, operation efficiency, container handling volume, hence reflecting the state\u2019s strategy to convert Egypt into an international logistic gateway. Worth noting that, Port Said port affiliated to Suez Canal Economic Zone SCEZ has won third place internationally and first regionally in performance index (CPPI) for the year 2024 issued by the World Bank, to assure on the port\u2019s status being one of the fastest developed ports and most efficient globally.<\/p>\n<p>Source : Egyptian Maritime Transport &amp; Logistics
