His Excellency President Adama Barrow yesterday visited Banjul Port to receive firsthand information on the progress made since Alport took over.<\/p>\n

The Managing Director of Alport, Mr. Salih Levent Kacar, accompanied President Barrow and his entourage on a tour, highlighting the significant improvements in Banjul Port’s operational efficiency.<\/p>\n

During the inspection, the President visited the newly constructed port terminal which has a capacity of 1,200 containers.<\/p>\n

Additionally, previously flooded areas have been redressed and water control systems upgraded.<\/p>\n

Mr. Salih noted that 2025 marked a major milestone for Banjul Port with the facility welcoming larger ships and high volume cargo with ease. These actions have enhanced regional competitiveness, positioning The Gambia as a key player in West African trade.<\/p>\n

President Barrow\u2019s conviction in the slogan \u201cNo Infrastructure, No Development\u201d is driving The Gambia\u2019s transformation as the port is expected to boost the economy and improve the country\u2019s trade competitiveness.<\/p>\n
