With a massive bollard pull of 190 tons, the vessel was built entirely within the shipyard&#8217;s facilities as part of a contract to build and deliver two specialized salvage tugboats for the Suez Canal Authority (SCA).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u200bThe tugboat is considered the latest and largest of its kind in the Middle East.<br \/>\n\u200b<br \/>\n\u200bThe ceremony was attended by:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">-\u200bRear Admiral Yasser El-Sherif, Director General of the Marine Industries and Services Organization.<br \/>\n-\u200bRear Admiral Hossam Kotb, Chairman of Alexandria Shipyard.<br \/>\n-\u200bMembers of the SCA Board of Directors, &#8211; former ASY leaders, &#8211; the shipyard\u2019s Administration and workers.<br \/>\n\u200b<br \/>\n\u200bAs a culmination of the strategic partnership between the SCA and ASY, both tugboats under this contract feature identical world-class specifications: \u200bLength 71.6 m,\u200bWidth 18.5 m,\u200bDraft 7 m,\u200bSpeed 16 knots,\u200bBP min 190 tons<br \/>\n\u200b<br \/>\n\u200bR. Admiral Hossam Kotb expressed his pride in this achievement, noting that launching both contracted tugs within the same year is a testament to the shipyard&#8217;s efficiency. He emphasized that these giant vessels serve as a global certificate of confidence in Egypt&#8217;s ability to carry the &#8220;Made in Egypt&#8221; banner into new international horizons. He pledged that testing and delivery procedures for &#8220;Ismailia 1&#8221; would commence in the first quarter of next year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u200bHe also extended his gratitude to international partners, including:<br \/>\n\u2022\u200bKongsberg: Main designer and supplier of major equipment.<br \/>\n\u2022\u200bMAN (Germany): Supplier of main engines<br \/>\n\u2022\u200bBureau Veritas classification society (BV).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u200bEng. Nashat Nasr El-Din (SCA Representative) praised ASY for delivering world-class quality in record time. He highlighted that this cooperation fulfills the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to build a sophisticated maritime industrial base capable of competing regionally and globally.<br \/>\n\u200b<br \/>\n\u200bMr. Nasser Ragab, Regional Director of (BV), concluded by stating that &#8220;Ismailia 2&#8221; is the most significant addition to the SCA fleet\u2019s history.
