{"id":20013,"date":"2026-02-12T14:51:17","date_gmt":"2026-02-12T13:51:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/?p=20013"},"modified":"2026-02-12T15:11:51","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T14:11:51","slug":"ad-ports-group-joins-africa-ports-developments-apd-30-year-concession-for-the-new-dry-bulk-terminal-in-douala-port-cameroon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/ad-ports-group-joins-africa-ports-developments-apd-30-year-concession-for-the-new-dry-bulk-terminal-in-douala-port-cameroon\/","title":{"rendered":"AD Ports Group Joins Africa Ports Development\u2019s (APD) 30-Year Concession for the New Dry Bulk Terminal in Douala Port &#8211; Cameroon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/AD-Ports-Group-Agreement-with-Africa-Ports-Development.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20014\" src=\"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/AD-Ports-Group-Agreement-with-Africa-Ports-Development.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"920\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/AD-Ports-Group-Agreement-with-Africa-Ports-Development.jpg 920w, https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/AD-Ports-Group-Agreement-with-Africa-Ports-Development-300x163.jpg 300w, https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/AD-Ports-Group-Agreement-with-Africa-Ports-Development-768x417.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 920px) 100vw, 920px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Port of Douala is a vital link to Central Africa, handling 80% of the Cameroon\u2019s bulk cargo and 85% of national trade volumes<\/em><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Agreement broadens AD Ports Group\u2019s presence and supports long term economic development in Africa<\/em><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The new terminal is expected to create up to 4,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, supporting workforce development and economic growth in Cameroon<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">AD Ports Group (ADX: ADPORTS), a leading global enabler of trade, logistics, and industry solutions, has joined Africa Ports Development\u2019s (APD) 30-year concession to design, build and operate a new dry bulk terminal at the Port of Douala in the Republic of Cameroon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The agreement establishes an investment structure, in which AD Ports Group together with two other UAE investors own 60% of the operating company alongside Africa Ports Development LTD&#8217;s 40% ownership, implying an effective economic interest of 51% for AD Ports Group.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Based on the ownership of this investment structure AD Ports Group\u2019s share of investment is expected to be around AED 320 million (EUR 73.4 million), for the development of phase 1 of the dry bulk terminal, which comprises 2 berths and approximately 450 metres of quay wall, with an annual handling capacity of around 4 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo, such as clinker, gypsum, fertiliser, and grain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Construction is expected to take place between 2026 and 2028, in close collaboration with the Port Authority of Douala, to address strong and sustained demand at Cameroon\u2019s principal maritime gateway.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Mohamed Eidha Al Menhali, Regional CEO &#8211; AD Ports Group<\/strong>, said: \u201cThis agreement represents a strategically important expansion of AD Ports Group\u2019s presence in Africa and reinforces our commitment to developing high-impact maritime infrastructure in high-growth markets, in line with the vision of our wise leadership. The Douala dry bulk terminal will enhance trade resilience, support industrial development, and strengthen Cameroon\u2019s role as a gateway to Central Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Al Menhali added: \u201cThrough our partnership with Africa Ports Development, we are combining local market expertise with AD Ports Group\u2019s global capabilities in port development and operations to support the Port Authority of Douala\u2019s plans to modernise and enhance Douala Port, enabling regional trade and long-term economic growth.
