Emelia Arthur, and the Director of CIHEAM Bari, Dr. Biagio Di Terlizzi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The agreement establishes a strategic partnership between Ghana and Italy aimed at advancing sustainable fisheries management, aquaculture development, research and training, institutional capacity building, private sector investment, and Blue Economy development.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Key Areas of the Partnership<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Under the MoU, both parties will partner to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Strengthen institutional capacity in the fisheries and aquaculture sector<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Improve fisheries governance and fish stock recovery systems<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Promote aquaculture innovation, including offshore aquaculture<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Support research collaboration and postgraduate training<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Encourage private sector partnerships and investment<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Enhance climate resilience and Blue Economy development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Highlights of the Official Visit<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the visit, the Ghanaian delegation held meetings and technical engagements in Bari, Monopoli, Tricase, Gallipoli and Torre Suda with Italian maritime authorities, fisheries cooperatives, aquaculture operators, seafood processors and training institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The engagements provided Ghana with practical lessons on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Community-led fisheries management approaches<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Offshore marine aquaculture systems<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Modern fish processing, cold chain and traceability systems<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maritime safety, vessel monitoring and surveillance technologies<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Marine Protected Area (MPA) governance and ecosystem restoration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These experiences will support Government\u2019s ongoing efforts to modernise the fisheries sector, reduce post-harvest losses, strengthen monitoring and enforcement, and promote sustainable livelihoods in coastal communities.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Next Steps<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture will work closely with CIHEAM Bari and other stakeholders to develop an implementation roadmap to operationalise the partnership and ensure that its outcomes
