class=\"ql-align-justify\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Ghana Navy, in collaboration with the United States Naval Forces Africa (NAVAF) and the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), has successfully conducted the Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) exercise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ql-align-justify\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The exercise ended with a closing ceremony held at the Naval Headquarters on Wednesday, 25 March 2026, marking the successful completion of the first joint regional interoperability operation between Ghana and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ql-align-justify\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Conducted over ten days, the operation was designed to strengthen cooperation among partner nations in combating illicit maritime activities, including armed robbery, piracy, smuggling, human trafficking at sea, and anti-illegal, unreported, and Unregulated Fishing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ql-align-justify\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his remarks, the Director Naval Operations, Naval Captain Dennis Kofi Andofo Eghan, commended participants for their commitment and professionalism throughout the exercise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ql-align-justify\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">He emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration between the Ghana Navy and the United States in addressing emerging maritime security threats and ensuring safety and stability within the region\u2019s maritime domain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ql-align-justify\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Participants included representatives from Interpol, the Ghana Police Marine Unit, the Ghana Immigration Service, the Ghana Maritime Authority, the Fisheries Commission, and the Ghana Air Force.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Source :
