Emelia Arthur, and stressed the need for strong collaboration between Blue Ventures Conservation and the Ministry to achieve shared goals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr. Saidy also expressed appreciation for the government\u2019s ongoing efforts in the fisheries sector and reaffirmed Blue Ventures Conservation\u2019s commitment to working closely with stakeholders to deliver meaningful impact.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He further invited the Minister to speak at the 11th Our Ocean Conference, scheduled to take place in Kenya in June 2026.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In her remarks, Hon. Emelia Arthur expressed gratitude to the Blue Ventures Conservation team for their continued support.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She reaffirmed the Ministry\u2019s commitment to strengthening the fisheries sector through strategic partnerships and sustainable practices.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Minister emphasized the importance of prioritizing compliance over enforcement in addressing Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing, noting that this approach would yield more effective and lasting results.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She added that the MoU aligns with Ghana\u2019s national interests and contributes to global efforts in fisheries conservation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The partnership will focus on several key areas, including policy, legal and institutional support; fisheries law enforcement; capacity building and training; scientific research and data collection; community engagement and co-management; marine conservation and ecosystem protection; community livelihood empowerment; and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This collaboration marks a significant step forward in Ghana\u2019s commitment to safeguarding its marine resources and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the fisheries sector.<\/p>\n<p>Source :
