Mr. Lars H\u00e5kan \u00c5kesson on Monday 25 May 2026 at Maison Queau de Quinssy ahead of his accreditation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The two diplomats discussed the steady increase in the number of Swedish tourists who visit the Seychelles and noted that direct flights to and from Scandinavia could help improve connectivity and people to people exchanges.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Capacity building in various domains was also raised during the meeting, whereby Ambassador \u00c5kesson noted that Swedish universities offered programmes in English. Minister Faure also inquired about training in the fields of Agriculture and Tourism noting that Sweden had excellent institutions catering to capacity building in these sectors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ambassador \u00c5kesson also touched on a Memorandum of Understanding between the Seychelles Port Authority (SPA) and the RISE Research Institutes which aims at making Port Victoria a sustainable and \u2018greener\u2019 port.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the topic of Maritime Security, Ambassador Akesson suggested linking the concerned authorities with a company that had developed a technology which could help track illegal fishing. Minister Faure welcomed this collaboration which would be greatly beneficial to the country and would help combat IUU fishing and improve maritime security within our EEZ.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Renewable energy, the insurgence of piracy and the Multidimensional Vulnerability Index were also highlighted during the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Source : Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the
