Kamel El Wazir, Minister of Transport \u200e\u200e- Egypt, and Group senior officials tour the new facilities<\/em><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The new terminal expands the Group\u2019s presence across the Red Sea<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">AD Ports Group (ADX: \u200eADPORTS), a leading global enabler of integrated trade, industry and logistics \u200esolutions, today launched trial operations at Noatum Ports &#8211; Safaga Terminal in Egypt \u200eahead of the terminal\u2019s full operational launch later this year.\u200e<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">His Excellency Lieutenant-General Eng. Kamel El Wazir, Minister of Transport \u2013 \u200eEgypt; and Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi \u2013 Managing Director and Group CEO \u200eof AD Ports Group; along with senior officials have conducted a site tour of the new \u200emultipurpose terminal in Safaga Port \u2013 Egypt.\u200e<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The officials reviewed the terminal\u2019s operations, systems, and processes, which are \u200edesigned to ensure full operational readiness and the seamless delivery of services in \u200eaccordance with the highest international standards. The Noatum Ports &#8211; Safaga \u200eTerminal is being delivered under a 30-year concession agreement signed in 2023 for \u200ethe development and operation of the multipurpose terminal, in partnership with \u200eEgypt\u2019s Red Sea Ports Authority (RSPA).\u200e<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, Egypt\u2019s Minister of Transport<\/strong>, \u200esaid: \u201cWe commend the productive partnership with AD Ports Group to deliver a \u200erange of strategic maritime port projects along the Red Sea, as well as across various \u200esectors of the maritime transport industry. Safaga Terminal serves as a key gateway \u200efor the development of Upper Egypt and will play a vital role in supporting the mining \u200eactivities associated with the Golden Triangle Economic Zone, facilitating import and \u200eexport operations, and enabling development projects across Northern, Central, and \u200eSouthern Upper Egypt through enhanced connectivity with the port. This development \u200eis also expected to attract investments across industrial, logistics, warehousing, \u200eprocessing, and assembly sectors, while strengthening container and cargo \u200etransportation capabilities throughout the region, further supporting economic growth \u200eand trade development.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO &#8211; AD \u200ePorts Group<\/strong>, said: \u201cEgypt is one of the Group\u2019s most important international \u200emarkets, and serves as a major trade gateway along the Group\u2019s global network, \u200espanning Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and South America. With strategic access to \u200ethe Red Sea, Noatum Ports \u2013 Safaga Terminal reinforces our position as an enabler \u200eof trade across key waterways. We look forward to the full operational launch of our \u200enew terminal later this year, which represents another major step in our cooperation \u200ewith our partners in Egypt, in line with the vision of our wise leadership.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Noatum Ports &#8211; Safaga Terminal will span approximately 810,000 m2, featuring a \u200e\u200e1,000-metre quay wall designed to handle up to 450,000 TEUs, alongside 5 million \u200etonnes of dry bulk and general cargo, 1 million tonnes of liquid bulk, and 50,000 CEUs \u200eof Ro-Ro cargo.\u200e<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The terminal is set to be the first internationally operated port terminal in the Upper \u200eEgypt region of southern Egypt, serving as a key gateway for the region and \u200estrengthening connectivity across Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, and global shipping \u200eroutes.\u200e<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Egypt and the Red Sea are a focus of AD Ports Group\u2019s expanding global network of \u200eintegrated trade, transport, and logistics facilities. In April 2026, Noatum Ports, the \u200einternational ports operating arm of AD Ports Group confirmed the delivery of three \u200enew ship-to-shore (STS) and six rubber tyred gantry (RTG) cranes to its new \u200emultipurpose terminal in Safaga. Beyond its container feeder shipping and \u200estevedoring services, the Group recently announced the commencement of cruise \u200eservices at its three terminals in Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, and Safaga in Egypt, in \u200eaddition to facilitating ferry services connecting Safaga and NEOM ports to support \u200etransport of Hajj workers between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The Group is also \u200edeveloping the 20 km2 KEZAD East Port Said Industrial and Logistics Park with \u200eEgyptian partners at the Mediterranean gateway of the Suez Canal.\u200e<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\nIn November 2025, AD Ports Group invested 13.2 billion Egyptian pounds (USD 279 \u200emillion) to acquire a 19.3% stake in one of Egypt\u2019s largest container terminal \u200eoperators, Alexandria Container &amp; Cargo Handling Company (ALCN), and \u200esubsequently moved to acquire a majority stake in the company.\u200e<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Source : AD Ports Group<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>His Excellency Lieutenant-General Eng.
