Samuel A. Stevquoah, emphasized that \u201cthe initiative represents a strategic shift toward establishing permanent public infrastructure, reducing reliance on rented facilities, and enhancing operational efficiency and long-term cost savings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On behalf of the Government of Liberia, Ambassador Snetter\u00a0 expressed appreciation to the World Bank and other development partners for their continued support, reaffirming \u201cLiberia\u2019s commitment to transparency, accountability, and results-driven development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">NaFAA Director General J. Cyrus Saygbe, Sr. hailed the groundbreaking as \u201ca transformative milestone,\u201d noting that the facility will serve as \u201ca centralized hub to improve efficiency, support fisherfolk, and drive inclusive growth across coastal and inland communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Director General Saygbe underscored that \u201cthe sector is playing a critical role in job creation, food security, and youth and women empowerment,\u201d while highlighting the complex as a key complement to plans for a modern fishing port.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to him, \u201cthe project symbolizes national resilience and a shared vision to harness Liberia\u2019s marine resources sustainably.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Both speakers stressed that the Fisheries Complex will not only strengthen governance and coordination within the sector, but also \u201cstand as a lasting symbol of progress, unity, and the country\u2019s commitment to building a more resilient and prosperous blue economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The program was also graced by the Chair of the Committee on Agriculture, Fishery and Forestry of the Liberian Senate; Honorable Wellington Gevon-Smith, the head of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL); Honorable Fabien Lai, the Deputy Minister for Operations of the Ministry of
