This certification attests to the compliance of Congo Terminal\u2019s environmental management system with the requirements of this international standard and is a recognition that crowns the efforts and actions undertaken by the terminal over several years. It complements other certifications already obtained by Congo Terminal: ISO 9001 certification and the certificate of compliance with the ISPS Code, obtained in 2017, as well as the Green Terminal label, obtained in 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Congo Terminal\u2019s environmental management system is based, in particular, on the identification, assessment and reduction of environmental impacts, waste management, raising awareness of environmental issues (particularly regarding biodiversity), and the responsible use of resources. It also provides for the monitoring of environmental commitments and their transparent communication to stakeholders.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis certification is not an end. It represents a step forward in the development of our environmental approach. It confirms the implementation of an environmental management system that complies with the requirements of ISO 14001 and forms part of a process of continuous improvement. The M\u00f4le Est project, currently under development, also incorporates technical solutions designed to reduce certain emissions associated with port operations,\u201d explains Anthony SAMZUN, Managing Director of Congo Terminal.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ISO 14001 certification strengthens Congo Terminal\u2019s ability to meet the expectations of its customers, partners and authorities. It also provides a framework for monitoring and improving its environmental practices as its activities expand, particularly with the M\u00f4le Est project, which is scheduled to commence in the first half of 2027.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>About de Congo Terminal: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Congo Terminal, a subsidiary of AGL (Africa Global Logistics), is the exclusive operator of cargo handling activities for container ships and roll-on\/roll-off vessels calling at the port of Pointe Noire. The company is involved in a public-private partnership that enables it to meet the requirements of its clients, including shipowners, importers and exporters. Through its numerous investments, Congo Terminal is helping to improve purchasing power and is actively contributing to the fight against the high cost of living. Certified to ISO 9001, ISPS (security), Pedestrian Free Yard (HSE) and Green Terminal standards, the company has state-of-the-art equipment and technology, including the Navis 4 operating system. Congo Terminal has exceeded the threshold of 1,000,000 TEUs handled per year since 2022 and employs nearly 900 Congolese staff.
