{"id":22122,"date":"2026-09-07T07:00:50","date_gmt":"2026-09-07T06:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/?p=22122"},"modified":"2026-09-07T08:02:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-07T07:02:12","slug":"cabo-verde-enapor-and-scope-africa-strengthen-cooperation-on-port-safety-and-security","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/cabo-verde-enapor-and-scope-africa-strengthen-cooperation-on-port-safety-and-security\/","title":{"rendered":"Cabo Verde &#8211; ENAPOR and SCOPE Africa strengthen cooperation on port safety and security"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/796726229_1715273129557683_3311020633289409078_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-22124\" src=\"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/796726229_1715273129557683_3311020633289409078_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" srcset=\"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/796726229_1715273129557683_3311020633289409078_n.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/796726229_1715273129557683_3311020633289409078_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/796726229_1715273129557683_3311020633289409078_n-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/796726229_1715273129557683_3311020633289409078_n-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ENAPOR and the SCOPE Africa project, implemented by Expertise France in partnership with Enabel and funded by the European Union, held the First SCOPE Africa Port Steering Committee in Mindelo today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The meeting brought together representatives from ENAPOR, the European Union Delegation UE em Cabo Verde and key national stakeholders to review the progress achieved, discuss priorities and agree on the next steps to strengthen port security, operational safety, governance and environmental resilience in Cabo Verde.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Steering Committee marked an important milestone in the cooperation between ENAPOR and SCOPE Africa, building on the needs assessment conducted in 2025 and the subsequent capacity-building activities, including the ISPS Code awareness session held in March 2026 and the certified training of ENAPOR\u2019s Port Facility Security Officers (PFSOs) and Assistant PFSOs, completed this week.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The meeting also provided an opportunity to validate the 2026\u20132027 implementation roadmap and formalise the partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between ENAPOR and SCOPE Africa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This cooperation contributes to the broader objective of strengthening Cabo Verde\u2019s strategic maritime infrastructure and promoting safe, secure and resilient connectivity, in line with the European Union\u2019s Global Gateway strategy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Later in the afternoon, the Board of Directors, accompanied by the Director of the Executive Office, met with the Head of Cooperation of the European Union in Cabo Verde, Mr Crist\u00f3bal Delgado Matas.
