Its 54 mile district along the Mississippi River is one of the United States&#8217; largest cargo gateways and is deeply integrated into grain, energy, petrochemical and industrial trade.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2025, the Port of South Louisiana reported more than 248 million short tons of total trade, including more than 65 million short tons of exports. Its network includes deep draft vessel access, barge traffic, rail, highway, pipeline and air connections, positioning the port as a major multimodal link between Louisiana producers and international markets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The October 24 exchange will focus on areas where Louisiana and African markets share practical interests, including port infrastructure, bulk and breakbulk cargo, energy logistics, agricultural exports, shipbuilding and vessel services, offshore support, supply chains, intermodal transportation and Blue Economy development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Louisiana&#8217;s maritime economy extends beyond cargo movement.
