The objective is to facilitate the flow of information and enhance Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA), which is essential for anticipating risks and coordinating responses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The second priority area aims to strengthen the United Kingdom\u2019s involvement in the Regional Maritime Security Architecture. This cooperation is expected to contribute to more effective efforts to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, illicit trafficking, piracy and other forms of organised maritime crime.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The United Kingdom Reaffirms Its Support for Regional Initiatives<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During his visit to the operations room, Paul Brummell praised the professionalism, technical expertise and commitment of RMIFC staff, particularly the technical experts and international liaison officers seconded to the Centre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The British High Commissioner also reiterated the United Kingdom Government\u2019s strong and continued support for regional initiatives led by the RMIFC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The visit demonstrates a shared commitment to strengthening regional and international cooperation mechanisms to address maritime threats. At a time when maritime security is a major concern for the coastal states of the South-West Indian Ocean, information sharing, operational coordination and the mobilisation of international partners
