The signing ceremony took place at the offices of Agri-Impact Ltd in Trassaco, Accra.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Chief Executive Officer of Agri-Impact Ltd, Dr. (h.c.) Daniel Fahene Acquaye, and the Executive Director of the Fisheries Commission, Prof. Benjamin Betey Campion, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The SAWA Programme is an initiative of the Mastercard Foundation in partnership with Agri-Impact Ltd. It aims to unlock dignified and fulfilling work opportunities for 60,000 young women aged 18 to 35, including young women with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The programme focuses on Ghana\u2019s aquaculture sector, particularly tilapia and catfish production, with the aim of strengthening women\u2019s participation and creating sustainable economic opportunities across the aquaculture value chain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Under the partnership, the Fisheries Commission will provide technical and regulatory support through licensing, education, sensitisation and other relevant interventions to strengthen aquaculture production and businesses. This support is expected to improve knowledge, promote compliance with regulatory requirements and expand opportunities for young women interested in or already engaged in the sector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The agreement marks an important step towards strengthening collaboration among key stakeholders to promote inclusive growth, empower young women and support the sustainable development of Ghana\u2019s aquaculture industry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 4-year SAWA Programme, a co-created initiative of the Mastercard Foundation in partnership with Agri-Impact Ltd, runs from 2026 to 2030 and is being implemented by a consortium of 10 partners including the Fisheries Commission.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It also seeks to build a more inclusive aquaculture sector where young women, including young women with disabilities, can access meaningful work opportunities, grow their businesses and build sustainable
