{"id":5958,"date":"2021-03-01T13:33:01","date_gmt":"2021-03-01T12:33:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/?p=5958"},"modified":"2021-03-01T13:33:01","modified_gmt":"2021-03-01T12:33:01","slug":"ihma-announces-new-regional-committee-in-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/en\/ihma-announces-new-regional-committee-in-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"IHMA Announces New Regional Committee in Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The International Harbour Masters\u2019 Association is proud to endorse the establishment of the <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">African Harbour Masters\u2019 Committee<\/span>, the second such committee to be created under the Association\u2019s Constitution which allows a region of IHMA to be formed in an area of the world, the boundary of which is defined by named countries. IHMA\u2019s Executive Committee unanimously supported the proposal which was formally approved on 25 January, 2021.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5959\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5959\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/PHOTO-2021-02-17-17-45-08_0.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5959 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/maritimafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/PHOTO-2021-02-17-17-45-08_0.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5959\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\">Meeting at Tangier City Port (SGPTV) &#8211; Pictured left to right: Mohamed Maghazi, President AHMC; Mohamed Ouanaya, President Chief Executive Officer , SGPTV; Yoss Leclerc, President IHMA; Kamal Din Aamraoui, Chief Operating Officer, SGPTV.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The AHMC will bring together the African continent and collaborate in a spirit of co-operation to share ideas and provide guidance, support, and direction in the management of all aspects of maritime matters related to the Harbour Master\u2019s function in ports.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">AHMC President, Mohamed MAGHAZI said &#8216;I\u2019m honored to chair the AHMC and look forward to serving AHMC\u2019s membership and the specific ports matters in Africa. With members in more than 50 countries, the Association is open to all those who hold a managerial position in aspects of the control of marine operations within a port.
