As a vibrant State Owned Enterprise, the GPA Management has today paid a cheque for D50 million stakeholder dividend to Gambia Government for the year ended 31st December, 2019. The presentation ceremony was held at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs in Banjul.<\/p>\n

Presenting the cheque on behalf of the GPA and its Board of Directors, Hon. Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure (MoTWI), Bai Lamin Jobe expressed delight, saying this is a clear indication that the GPA Management and the Board of Directors are effective and efficient in delivering on the GPA mandate. He said despite persistent challenges such as Covid-19 pandemic and constraint on infrastructure, the GPA Management has proven efficient.<\/p>\n

Speaking for the Government while receiving the cheque, the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Hon. Mambureh Njie recognised and acknowledged the Gambia Ports Authority Management and Staff, for their contribution to the financial achievements of the Authority. He explained that dividend revenue line-item expected from State -Owned Enterprises is used for provision of basic services to citizens which are not recorded on the national budget.<\/p>\n

Finally, Minister Njie sincerely thanked the GPA Management, Staff and Board of Directors for their industriousness and commitment for being able to contribute this expected revenue sharing to the Gambia Government.<\/p>\n

In attendance were Ousman Jobarteh, Managing Director GPA; Tamsir Sallah, Director of Finance GPA; Babucarr M. Sarr, Chairman GPA Board of Directors and Mr. Mbye Jeng, President GPA Staff Association.<\/p>\n
