It\u00a0aims to help attendees improve\u00a0their skills for\u00a0management and operational efficiency at\u00a0the\u00a0ports\u00a0they work in.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\">WIPM,\u00a0held at\u00a0Institut\u00a0Portuaire\u00a0d&#8217;Enseignement\u00a0et de Recherche (IPER),\u00a0includes lectures on port management, port security, port environment, facilitation of maritime traffic, the ship\/port interface, concession contracts,\u00a0as well as port marketing,\u00a0tariffs\u00a0and logistics.\u00a0They also learned about\u00a0IMO\u2019s\u00a0Member\u00a0State\u00a0Audit\u00a0scheme.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\">Attendees\u00a0usually\u00a0undertake a study visit to gain first-hand knowledge of the day-to-day operations of an overseas port. This will allow them to\u00a0look at\u00a0implementing\u00a0similar operating practices back in their respective countries.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\">This year\u2019s course was attended by\u00a0participants from 11 French speaking countries: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Lebanon, Madagascar, Senegal, Togo, Tunisia.\u00a0A\u00a0visit\u00a0to\u00a0the Port of Le Havre and the Port of Rouen (both of which fall under HAROPA Port)\u00a0is being organized\u00a0in the spring.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\">The WIPM course is\u00a0organized\u00a0under\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imo.org\/en\/OurWork\/TechnicalCooperation\/Pages\/WomenInMaritime.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-charstyle=\"Hyperlink\">IMO\u2019s gender and capacity-building\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-charstyle=\"Hyperlink\">programme<\/span><\/span><\/a><span lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\">, in collaboration with IPER\u00a0and HAROPA PORT\u00a0and held at\u00a0Le Havre (pictured).
