International Association\u00a0of Ports and Harbors (IAPH)<\/b> has welcomed the Port Autonome de Cotonou as a regular member.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Port Autonome de Cotonou (PAC) represents the port authority.\u00a0It is an industrial and commercial public body with civil personality and financial autonomy, created on 31 December 1964 by Law No. 64-39, as amended by Ordinance No. 76-55 of 11 October 1976. The Port Autonome de Cotonou (PAC)\u00a0is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the facilities of the Port of Cotonou, to manage the port area and to carry out the works of improvement and extension of said port.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Port of Cotonou is a port with regional vocation, having logistic offers and remarkable services. Located on the southern edge of the city of Cotonou, economic capital of the Republic of Benin, it offers a natural outlet to countries without a maritime facade and neighboring Nigeria. This position therefore gives it the role of transit port par excellence in the Gulf of Guinea region.<\/p>\n

THE ESSENTIALS OF THE PORT OF COTONOU FACILITIES<\/strong><\/h6>\n

\u2022 Water body of more than over 60 ha;
\u2022 Harbour area of approximately 200 ha;
\u2022 Eleven (11) berths for all types of vessels (conventional, container ships, RoRo,
tankers, bulk carriers, trawlers, etc.);
\u2022 One (01) Oil Tanker Station (ORYX) in South Zone representing a 250m linear;
\u2022 One (01) Fishing Harbour;
\u2022 Two (02) new 600 ml berths under the MCA granted to the BOLLORE Group;
\u2022 Free zones for Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali and Chad;
\u2022 Stores and warehouses;
\u2022 Clad earth platform;
\u2022 Container parks;
\u2022 Used vehicle storage areas;
\u2022 Gas deposits.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the IAPH is a non-governmental organization (NGO) headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. IAPH aims to be the global trade association of choice for port authorities and operators, representing their interests at regulatory level at the International Maritime Organization, the World Customs Organization, the International Standards Organization and other global alliances such as the Global Maritime Forum and the World Economic Forum.
