Bénin Terminal obtains triple ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certification
Bénin Terminal, a subsidiary of AGL (Africa Global Logistics) and operator of the Port of Cotonou container terminal, recently announced that it had obtained certification for its QHSE Integrated Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management) standards.
This triple certification, issued by Bureau Veritas Certification, is the result of a rigorous audit carried out by Bureau Veritas experts on Bénin Terminal’s facilities. Obtaining this triple certification testifies to Bénin Terminal’s commitment to the Port of Cotonou, the Beninese government and its customers, partners, employees, suppliers, shareholders, etc. to comply with legal, regulatory and contractual requirements in terms of quality, environment and safety. It also reflects the company’s commitment to continuous improvement in its performance and competitiveness.
This certification also highlights the professionalism and involvement of Bénin Terminal’s employees, who are at the heart of its strategy. It underlines the permanent involvement of the General Management and all the employees of Bénin Terminal in a common objective of sustainable development and performance around three axes: actively listening to customers and other stakeholders, optimising processes and methods, and seeking performance through continuous improvement.
Fabrice Ture, Managing Director of Bénin Terminal, expressed his pride: “We are very proud to have obtained this triple certification for several reasons: it rewards the work and commitment of all our employees, it enhances our approach to social and environmental responsibility, and it strengthens our know-how and expertise for the benefit of all our customers and users. We will continue our efforts and commitments to improve our performance and competitiveness.
Bart Van Eenoo, Managing Director of the Autonomous Port of Cotonou, also welcomed this achievement: “The Port of Cotonou is delighted that Bénin Terminal has been awarded the triple certification of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. These three standards, obtained simultaneously by Bénin Terminal, confirm the port platform’s commitment to sustainable development. This involves adopting best practices and complying with environmental standards. Congratulations to Bénin Terminal! We hope that Bénin Terminal’s approach will be emulated by others working at the Cotonou port hub.
By obtaining this triple certification, which gives it international recognition for the quality of its QHSE Integrated Management System, Bénin Terminal has distinguished itself and strengthened its position as a benchmark player in the port of Cotonou. The company is thus confirming its ability to meet and anticipate the needs and expectations of its customers, by offering them quality services that respect the environment and the health and safety of people.
