Mr David Bianchi appointed as Principal Secretary for Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine

Today, the Seychelles Port Authority (SPA) family bid farewell to David Bianchi, Director of Strategy, in a short and emotional ceremony held this afternoon in the SPA conference room.

This is following the appointment of Mr. Bianchi as the new Principal Secretary for Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine which was officially announced by the Office of the President today.

With an illustrious career with SPA spanning over 18 years, Mr. Bianchi has been instrumental in transforming the port’s business operations, enhancing international relations and efficiency, and spearheading critical strategic developments in his time with the Authority. He held the position of Director for Strategies from 2017 till his new appointment.

As Principal Secretary, he will now oversee the strategic coordination and development of the country’s ports, aviation, and marine sectors; all critical pillars for economic growth and international trade. He brings a wealth of experience from the public sector to his new role.

Both the Chairman of the SPA Board, Mr. Brian Loveday, and the Chief Executive of SPA, Mr. Sony Payet, extended their heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Bianchi on his well-deserved appointment, commending his unwavering commitment towards SPA during his tenure and wished him the best in this new chapter.

Also present during the short ceremony, were other SPA board members, the Deputy CEO, Harbour Master, Special Advisor to the CEO, management and other staff of SPA.

Mr. Bianchi will officially assume office on Tuesday 15th April. We take this opportunity to wish him prosperity in his new endeavour.
