Wazir receives Guinness World Records certificate for Ain Sokhna port
Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir received on Monday, December 15, 2025, the Guinness World Records certificate recognizing Ain Sokhna Port as the deepest man-made port basin constructed on land, with a depth of 19 meters.
The certificate was presented during the minister’s visit to the port by Kanzy El-Defrawy, an accredited Guinness World Records adjudicator, marking a major international achievement that reflects the significant development of Egypt’s maritime ports sector.
El-Wazir expressed pride in the global recognition, dedicating the achievement to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian people, and emphasizing that it was made possible by strong political support and the efforts of Egyptian engineers, workers, and national companies.
He noted that the development of Ain Sokhna Port forms part of a comprehensive national plan to transform the port into a global hub on the Red Sea, enhance Egypt’s role in international trade, and advance the country’s vision of becoming a regional center for transport, logistics, and transit trade, while Guinness World Records confirmed that all technical standards had been fully met.
