U.S. COAST GUARD AND TASAC STRENGTHEN MARITIME SAFETY AND SECURITY COOPERATION THROUGH ANNUAL VISIT AND PROFESSIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM
The United States Coast Guard delegation today, January 20, 2026, paid an official visit to the Tanzania Shipping Agencies Corporation (TASAC) for the entry meeting of the annual visit and professional exchange program.
The meeting was formally opened by the Director General of TASAC, Mr. Mohammed Salum, who welcomed the delegation and highlighted the importance of international cooperation in strengthening maritime safety, security, and regulatory standards.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Salum noted that the annual visit and professional exchange program provides a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, technical learning, and institutional collaboration.
“We view cooperation with the United States Coast Guard not only as an assessment mechanism, but as a capacity-building partnership that enhances safe, secure, and efficient maritime trade for Tanzania, the United States, and the global supply chain,” said Mr. Salum.
Mr. Salum expressed gratitude to the U.S. Coast Guard for its valuable partnership and continued support of Tanzania’s maritime security efforts.
U.S Coast Guard representatives Mr. Henry Dumphy and Mr. Keith Heine thanked TASAC for the warm welcome and strong collaboration since their arrival. They pleadged continued partnership in maritime sector.
Director of Maritime Safety, Security, and Environment at TASAC, Ms. Leticia Mutaki, thanked the U.S. Coast Guard for its valuable partnership and continued support of Tanzania’s maritime security initiatives.
