Ghana – Kumasi Stakeholder Engagement on Blue Economy Bill Concludes Successfully
The two-day stakeholder engagement on the draft Ghana Blue Economy Commission Bill has successfully concluded at the Golden Bean Hotel in Kumasi, marking another key step towards finalising the proposed legislation.
Speaking at the close of the engagement, the Coordinator of the Blue Economy Secretariat, Fred Antwi Boadu, assured stakeholders that the process would be advanced swiftly and disclosed that the final validation of the Bill would take place soon.
He expressed appreciation to participants for their valuable contributions, noting that the inputs gathered through the consultations would help strengthen the Bill and advance Ghana’s vision of a coordinated and sustainable blue economy.
The Blue Economy Inter-Ministerial Committee and the Consultant will review all reports from the engagements and incorporate the agreed inputs ahead of the stakeholder validation.
Key policy matters, including the size and membership of the proposed Council and the composition of the Board, among others, will be considered as the draft Bill is refined.
The consultation forms part of efforts to build a coordinated framework for Ghana’s sustainable blue economy.
