The Gambia To Host 30th Maritime Board Of Governors Meeting

The Government of The Gambia under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure is hosting a four-day meeting of the regional maritime board of governors and experts summit from the 7th – 10th November 2023 at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Center in Bijilo.

During the first three days of the summit, experts from member countries such as the Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Cameroon, will discuss and brainstorm over issues related to the maritime body, the successes, the challenges, and the way forward.

On Friday, the Board of Governors of the body will also hold a meeting under the chairmanship of Honorable Ebrima Sillah, the Gambian Minister for Transport, Works and Infrastructure, who also doubles as the chancellor of the Regional Maritime University(RMU).

The meeting is expected to review the activities of the University and address some of the challenges as well as map out the strategies for the smooth operations of the university in the next six(6) months.
