New Owendo International Port (NOIP), a subsidiary of the Arise Ports & Logistics group, announces a strategic partnership with Sucreries du Gabon SA
On 27 May 2024, New Owendo International Port (NOIP) signed a strategic partnership with Sucreries du Gabon SA. The contract covers several key areas, including port handling, logistics services, ship consignment and the storage and transport of sugar in Gabon.
Faced with frequent shortages on the market, Sucreries du Gabon (formerly known as SUCAF) has signed an important agreement marking a crucial step in securing the country’s sugar supply. On 10 July 2024, NOIP took delivery of a vessel fully chartered by Sucreries du Gabon, containing 11,000 tonnes of sugar. This cargo represents no less than 4 to 5 months’ supply and will be used to supply the Gabonese market”, says Donald OLLO NGUEMA, Commercial Director at Sucreries du Gabon. To support this ambition, one of NOIP’s two warehouses will be entirely dedicated to the activities of Sucreries du Gabon. NOIP will also provide a door-to-door service to optimise sugar delivery in Greater Libreville and the interior of the country.
In Libreville, les Sucreries du Gabon now has a complete logistics solution and a strategic location for its activities. In total, NOIP has already received 13,200 tonnes of sugar on its quay on behalf of this new partner and is awaiting further shipments.
For NOIP, this partnership means it can diversify its logistics activities by adding a new food product to its supply chain management for products such as cereals and palm oil. With this contract, we are strengthening our legitimacy in the market by positioning ourselves as a flexible partner attentive to customers’ specific needs”, says Micky BADINGA, Sales Manager at NOIP.
