Congo Terminal has taken its performance with large vessels to new heights, surpassing all previous records

Congo Terminal has reached a new milestone in its pursuit of operational excellence by achieving record levels of weekly actual productivity on large vessels (mother vessels) – a feat never before achieved in its history. Following an initial record of 67 movements per hour in 2025, the terminal has reached a new milestone by achieving 99 movements per hour at the end of June – an increase of more than 47 per cent in the space of six months.

These results are the fruit of rigorous organisation and high-quality teamwork. The planning of vessel calls, the optimisation of handling processes and the upskilling of teams have been crucial. They send a strong signal to shipowners seeking reliable, fast and competitive port calls on the continent’s Atlantic coast.

“Actual productivity measures the net performance of operations, excluding external stoppages beyond the terminal’s control. It accurately reflects the efficiency of our teams: every port call is meticulously prepared and every movement is optimised. Achieving 129.34 movements per hour on mother vessels is not the result of a one-off effort. It is the result of daily operational discipline that our teams embody with commitment and pride,” explains Christel ANGA, Operations Manager at Congo Terminal.

These achievements illustrate the trajectory of a terminal that is constantly progressing. They confirm the central role of the port of Pointe-Noire in regional logistics and demonstrate Congo Terminal’s ability to rank amongst the world’s best. The company continues to pursue its mission with the same high standards and ambition: to offer shipowners and shippers a highperforming, reliable and competitive platform that supports the economic development of the Congo and the sub-region.
