A delegation from the Douala Port Authority in Dubai

As part of the policy of renovation and modernization of the Port of Douala-Bonabéri, a delegation of the Douala Port Authority (PAD), led by its Managing Director Mr. Cyrus NGO’O, stayed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from Monday 5 to Friday, September 9, 2022.

The delegation of the Douala Port Authority was composed of members of the Board of Directors of the PAD, General Managers of port and maritime companies, and staff on duty at the PAD. Mr. Auguste MBAPPE PENDA, Managing Director of the National Shippers’ Council of Cameroon (CNCC), one of whose main missions is the promotion of foreign trade through a better competitiveness of the port of Douala, was also part of the delegation.

In its agenda, the delegation made a working visit to the headquarters of Dubai Port World (DPW), the first multinational logistics company of the Emirates based in Dubai. The directors, the Managing Director, Cyrus Ngo’o and some operational managers were able to visit the implementation of a fully automated container terminal.

The delegation also had discussions with the managers of World Crane Services (WCS), a leading company in the shipping industry. These discussions focused on the possible areas of intervention of WCS in the expansion and development projects of the port of Douala-Bonaberi.

In addition to these meetings, the PAD delegation took part, during two days, in a training workshop on the new perspectives of management of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and its contribution in the performance of modern ports.
