African Harbour Masters Committee Announces New Executive Committee
During the IHMA 14th International Congress in Morocco, the African Harbour Masters Committee (AHMC) held elections for its Executive Committee.
The outcome of the elections are as follows:
AHMC Executive Committee 2024-2026
- AHMC President: Thulani Dubeko, Harbour Master, Port of Ngqura, Transnet National Ports Authority
- Vice President representing South Africa: Frederico da Silva, Harbour Master, Maputo and Matola, MPDC
- Vice President representing East Africa: Peter Christopher John, Harbour Master, Dar es Salaam Port, Tanzania Ports Authority
- Vice President representing North Africa: Mohamed Maghazi, Harbour Master and Operations Director, Port of Tanger Ville (SGPTV)
- Vice President representing West Africa: Monday Garba Gajere, Assistant Harbour Master, Tincan Island Port, Nigerian Ports Authority
AHMC President Thulani Dubeko: “I would like to congratulate my fellow Executive Committee members on their election. The AHMC is a vital platform for sharing the knowledge and best practices that help make our ports increasingly safe and efficient. Those of us on the committee are looking forward to collaborating with Harbour Masters throughout Africa towards these goals in the years ahead.”
The AHMC was formally established on 25 January, 2021. It brings together Harbour Masters from across the African continent to share ideas and provide guidance, support and direction in the management of all aspects of maritime port operations.
