Benin Terminal equips all its dock gantry cranes with Spreader Control Unit (S.C.U) Technology

Benin Terminal, a subsidiary of AGL (Africa Global Logistics) and operator of the container terminal at the Port of Cotonou, has equipped its 4 quay gantry cranes with Spreader Control Unit (S.C.U) technology. This modern crane spreader system, acquired thanks to an investment of 500,000 euros (about 320 million CFA francs), facilitates the movement of containers and optimizes productivity on quay gantry cranes.

The company has also acquired 2 other brand new spreaders, already equipped with S.C.U technology, from Bromma, a specialist recognized worldwide for its expertise in the manufacture of crane spreaders.

These new acquisitions promote rapid  remote diagnosis of breakdowns at Benin Terminal’s facilities,  significantly increase the speed of ship operations and improve the overall productivity of the terminal.

«After the Port of Abidjan, the Port of Cotonou is the second port platform to deploy this technology, making Benin Terminal one of the port terminals that are the first to use this technology. Through this system, the company innovates by the ease it gives to maintenance, data analysis and remote monitoring of breakdowns» Torbjorn FRIDLUND, engineer from Bromma

«We are pleased and proud of the effective deployment of the Spreader Control Unit technology within Benin Terminal. This innovation , which accelerates our operations and optimizes our processes, is part of our equipment investment program aimed at modernizing and developing the activities of the Port of Cotonou. We remain committed to being the partner of choice for the port authorities, continuing to improve our services, in order to offer state-of-the-art solutions to our customers.» Fabrice TURE, Managing Director of Benin Terminal
