Cameroon National Shippers’ Council present at international maritime freight talks in Lagos

Since June 25, 2022, a delegation from the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC) has been in Lagos, Nigeria, for a meeting of the Union of African Shippers’ Councils’ (UASC) Committee of Experts on maritime transport costs in West and Central African ports.

Mr. Tsaguim Donfack Elvis, CNSC’s Director of Operations and Mr. NOLGA Fernand Douglas, Head of the Centre Regional Office, made up the two-man delegation representing the CNSC at these meetings aimed at reducing maritime freight rates in Africa’s ports. The meeting is being held in a difficult context marked by an exponential increase in maritime freight rates resulting in the disruption of the global logistics chain and a subsequent decline in foreign trade activities.
