Doğuş Construction Signs MOU for Industrial & Logistics Zone in Gargoub Port, Egypt

On March 21st, 2024, in Cairo, Doğuş Construction sealed a significant deal by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for an industrial and logistics zone in Gargoub Port, Egypt. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, the Minister of Transport of Egypt.

The MOU, a pivotal agreement, was inked between the Egyptian Group For Multipurpose Terminals (EGMPT), the commercial arm of Egypt’s Ministry of Transport in the maritime transport and logistics sector, represented by Admiral Abdul Qader Darwish, Chairman of the Board of Directors. Also present was consortium leader Inventure Group, represented by Karim Nakhle, Chairman of the Board of Directors. The third party to sign was Doğuş Construction, with CEO Tolga Akkas representing the company.

Doğuş Construction’s involvement in this project is significant as they aim to contribute as an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor. Additionally, they plan to assist EGMPT and Inventure Group in securing financing for the endeavor.

The project itself is ambitious, with investments surpassing $7 billion. It will entail the development of an industrial hub featuring multi-purpose terminals and areas. Furthermore, it will include the establishment of a touristic port equipped with hotels, restaurants, stores, a yacht marina, and passenger and cruise terminals.

This collaboration marks a crucial step forward for Doğuş Construction, EGMPT, and Inventure Group, highlighting their commitment to fostering economic growth and infrastructure development in Egypt. With the combined expertise and resources of these entities, the Gargoub Port project is poised to redefine the region’s industrial and logistical landscape while catering to the burgeoning tourism sector.
