Interferry2024 Call for Speakers for the 48th Annual Interferry Conference in Marrakech on the theme of ‘Safety, Security and Sustainability’

Interferry, the association that represents the ferry industry worldwide, is calling for speakers for its 48th annual conference, which will be held in Marrakech, Morocco from October 26-30, 2024. Interferry is seeking presentations that showcase industry solutions and learnings on this year´s conference theme: Safety, Security and Sustainability.

“We’re excited to be welcoming delegates to our first-ever conference on the African continent to meet and discuss what will shape the future of ferry shipping. Now, we strongly encourage our members and further interested parties to submit a proposal on any of the three topic areas. The sharing of best practices and lessons learned are beneficial for the overall advancement of the ferry industry,” says Interferry CEO Mike Corrigan.

For the topic of Safety, Interferry is seeking to highlight exemplary internal safety programmes and initiatives of ferry operators, as well as research or project findings that showcase learnings on electric battery fires. A portion of the safety programme will also be dedicated to domestic ferry safety following the Africa Ferry Safety Seminar, which is currently taking place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The topic of Security will seek to highlight all areas of operational security, including physical security concerns pertaining to ports and vessels, but also increasing cybersecurity risks as technology continues to rapidly advance. Finally, in the area of Sustainability, Interferry will continue to highlight zero-emission solutions as well as presentations on sustainable ship construction and interiors.

Interested conference delegates are welcome to submit their proposals no later than May 24, 2024 at https://interferryconference.com/call-for-speakers/. Selected speakers will be notified by June 30, 2024.
