Liberia Presents Maritime Painting to IMO Secretary General

In what signifies a classic cultural gesture highlighting Liberia’s maritime heritage, the country has gifted a classic painting to the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), H.E. Arsenio Dominguez.

The artwork, which was presented on behalf of the Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA), beautifully depicts a Liberian-flagged ship docking at a local port. The scene is surrounded by traditional Kru canoes and fishermen casting their nets, symbolizing Liberia’s deep ties to the sea. The head of the LiMA delegation assured the IMO Secretary General of Liberia’s steadfast support and cooperation with the global maritime regulatory body.

The presentation of the painting is seen as an important cultural exchange that underscores Liberia’s maritime identity and its commitment to working closely with the IMO on issues affecting the shipping industry. The artwork will now be displayed at the IMO’s headquarters in London, serving as a visual representation of Liberia’s proud nautical traditions.
