Senegal: President Faye receives the report of the ad hoc committee in charge of controlling the titles and occupations of the Public Maritime Domain
On Tuesday 13 August 2024, the President of the Republic of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, in the presence of the Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko, received the report of the ad hoc commission responsible for monitoring the titles and occupations of the Public Maritime Domain in the Dakar region.
The report revealed a number of worrying irregularities, particularly in terms of environmental and socio-economic impact.
In view of these findings, President Faye reaffirmed his commitment to correcting these anomalies. He stressed that this rectification would be carried out rigorously, not relentlessly but firmly, in order to restore orthodoxy and guarantee free access to the Public Maritime Domain for all. Recommendations were also made to strengthen the legislative and institutional framework.
