The Guinean Minister of Transport Announces the Opening of a Maritime Line Between Kamsar and Conakry

The Guinean government, through its Minister of Transport and Spokesperson, Ousmane Gaoual DIALLO, announced an ambitious initiative aimed at revitalizing the maritime transport sector, in order to fully capitalize on the vast maritime coastline of the Republic of Guinea Conakry.

The announced initiative is the imminent opening of a new maritime line connecting Kamsar to the city of Conakry. This connection will initially be dedicated to passenger transport.

According to Ms. Doussou NABE, Managing Director of the Société Navale Guinéenne (SNG), this line should be operational in just over a week. She specified that “A mission is already in Kamsar for the final adjustments before the launch of this new line.”

The Minister of Transport, for his part, stated that this maritime line will strengthen the connection between the Capital and the prefecture of Boké and diversify the means of passenger transit, thus highlighting the importance of the offer that this line will bring to passenger transport.

Minister Ousmane Gaoual DIALLO also instructed the SNG to look into the feasibility of urban and intercity transport along the Guinean coastline.

For the record, the Ministry of Transport, through the SNG, has a significant fleet of 8 modern boats for the transport of people and their goods.
