SIERRA LEONE – SLPHA DIALOGUES WITH TRIPLE-A ON ROBUST PORT SECURITY
The Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA) has held discussions with Triple A (AAA) on possible areas of collaboration aimed at strengthening port security, safety and smart port engagement.
The engagement, held on Tuesday, 15th September 2026, brought together SLPHA Board Chairman, Hon. Manso Dumbuya, Director General Yankuba Askia Bio, Deputy Director General Madam Judith Kosseh, other Directors and representatives of Triple-A.
Triple A, a team of professionals providing AI-enabled solutions for container intelligence, vehicle tracking, security, safety and resilient port operations, presented potential solutions including integrated security and safety systems, digital port twins, as well as container and vehicle tracking beyond the port gate.
The engagement comes as the Authority continues efforts to enhance security and resilience of the Port of Freetown. DG Bio noted that the Authority is preparing for a U.S. Coast Guard audit in November, with infrastructure improvements already underway.
Key areas identified during the engagement include consultancy and gap assessment, safety and security training, access control, and the development of a Port Masterplan. The SLPHA Management called for the proposed intervention to be expedited, with short, medium and long term targets clearly defined.
