Benin Terminal strengthens its equipment at the port of Cotonou with the acquisition of new machines

Benin Terminal, a subsidiary of Africa Global Logistics (AGL) and operator of the Port of Cotonou container terminal, continues to invest in operational excellence with the recent delivery of five port tractors and a new 16-ton forklift truck on the south quay of the port.

Worth 630 million CFA francs (about 957,000 euros), this investment strengthens the terminal’s handling capacity. The port tractors, designed to move loads of up to 75 tons, are equipped with ergonomic and air-conditioned cabins to ensure comfort and safety for their operators. The forklift, on the other hand, will allow up to six empty containers to be stacked, thus optimising space and increasing the volumes handled at the terminal.

This new low-carbon footprint equipment will improve the performance of the terminal and directly benefit all players in the supply chain, whether importers, exporters or partners.

With these acquisitions, Benin Terminal now increases its fleet to 45 port tractors and five 16-ton forklifts, confirming its key role in facilitating regional and international trade.
