Côte d’Ivoire – Hilaire Lamizana Elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Port Autonome d’Abidjan

The Port Autonome d’Abidjan held an extraordinary session of its Board of Directors on Thursday, April 23, 2026, dedicated to the appointment of its new Chairman of the Board (PCA). Mr. Hilaire Lamizana was elected to this strategic position in a context marked by broad consensus around his profile and experience.

He succeeds the late Abdou Touré, whose commitment and contribution to the development of the Port Autonome d’Abidjan continue to be praised by the port community.

Representing on the Board the President of the Republic, H.E. Alassane Ouattara, the new Chairman is a seasoned professional in the port sector, with solid experience and an in-depth knowledge of the Port Autonome d’Abidjan—an institution to which he has devoted a significant part of his career. His involvement in development and performance dynamics within the port sector is a major asset for the fulfillment of his new responsibilities.

He notably distinguished himself as Director General of the Port Autonome de San Pedro, where he led structural reforms and implemented results-oriented governance, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of this strategic platform and consolidating its leadership within the national port ecosystem.

Through this appointment, the members of the Board of Directors have chosen an experienced personality capable of effectively supporting the strategic directions driven by the highest authorities of the State.

Reacting to his appointment, Hilaire Lamizana expressed his deep gratitude to His Excellency Alassane Ouattara, President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, for the renewed confidence placed in him. He recalled having already benefited from this trust during his appointment as head of the Port Autonome de San Pedro, an experience he describes as decisive in his professional career.

The new Chairman also praised the strategic vision of the Ivorian Head of State regarding the development of the port sector. He thanked the members of the Board for their confidence and reaffirmed his commitment to the Port Autonome d’Abidjan, as well as his willingness to work closely with the General Management and all stakeholders to strengthen the competitiveness and international influence of the Abidjan port platform.
