DP World Senegal strengthens its capacities with 6 new RTG yard gantries

In Senegal, the concessionaire of the container terminal of the port of Dakar, DP World has recently received six (6) RTG yard gantries.

Scheduled for mid-April, the commissioning of these new state-of-the-art portals, will contribute to the modernization and strengthening of the capacities of the container terminal. With these acquisitions, DP world Dakar reaffirms its commitment to improve the quality of its services and to participate in making Dakar a major logistics hub, a hub and a gateway for West Africa.

The six (6) new RTG yard gantries assembled by the Polish company «El Professional» left the port of Gdansk in March, and were transported by the Spieliethoff, a multipurpose cargo ship, built in 2010 (length 168m, width 26m, draft 7.5m) of the shipowner Parmgracht.

Each standard-built RTG yard gantries with dimensions of 12 m x 30 m x 26 m, weighs approximately 145 tonnes and is designed for lifting standard containers weighing up to 41 tonnes.
