EU Deputy Head Visits Liberia Maritime Authority for Key Talks on Cooperation

The Deputy Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Liberia, Zoltan Szalai, met with the Commissioner/CEO of the Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA), Cllr. Neto Zarzar Lighe, Sr., at LiMA’s headquarters in Congo Town, Monrovia, to discuss areas of cooperation between the two parties.

Discussions during the meeting focused on the Liberian Registry, and maritime sector reforms. They also explored ways to strengthen Liberia’s regulatory compliance and oversight in the maritime sector to foster continued international partnerships, including with the EU.

Commissioner Lighe, Sr. expressed gratitude for the EU’s support and highlighted the importance of international assistance in enhancing Liberia’s maritime governance and competitiveness. These engagements are part of Liberia’s broader strategy to expand its influence in the global maritime industry.
