Inauguration of Women in Maritime of West and Central Africa (WIMOWCA) and conference on “Maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea” for the 23rd july
The Women in Maritime of West and Central Africa (WIMOWCA) will organise the 23rd july its inauguration ceremony as the newest IMO regional association for women in the maritime sector (WIMA) and a conference on ” Maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea “.
The panel discussion opened to all on “ The impact of maritime insecurity on shipping in the Gulf of Guinea, challenges and the way forward ” will be opened by the Ghana Minister of Transport, the Hon Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, and feature high profile speakers including IMO Secretary-General Kitack Lim and the Minister of State for Transportation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki.
Let us recall that, there are already seven WIMAs that have been establilshed across Africa, Arab States, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America and the Pacific, covering some 152 countries and 700+ participants.
