• Marsa Maroc, Morocco’s leading port operator, and Boluda Corporacion Maritima, the world’s number one provider of maritime services with presence in the 5 continents and a key player within the global maritime logistics chain, announce a major partnership.
• The agreement, which was authorized by the Board of Directors of Marsa Maroc at its meeting held on November 19th, remains subject to the approval of the competent authorities, relates to the acquisition by Marsa Maroc International Logistics (MMIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsa Maroc in charge of international development, of a 45% stake in the port operator Boluda Maritime Terminals (BMT), subsidiary of Boluda Corporacion Maritima.
Marsa Maroc and Boluda Corporacion Maritima announce the conclusion of an agreement about the acquisition of 45% of the share capital and voting rights of BMT for a total amount of EUR 80 million. This operation was authorized by Marsa Maroc’s Board of Directors at its meeting held on November 19th, 2025 and remains subject to the approval of the competent authorities.
BMT is established across 9 ports located between the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands. In 2024, its terminals handled a volume of more than 1 million TEUs, underscoring their key role in supporting cargo flows between the Peninsula and the Canary Archipelago.
This strategic partnership paves the way for strong synergies between Marsa Maroc and Boluda Corporacion Maritima, enabling them to combine their complementary capabilities and strengths in port terminal management. The two groups share a strong strategic alignment, driven by a common ambition to reinforce their positioning on the Morocco–Spain corridor, a major maritime axis linking both sides of the Strait, but also internationally, notably in Africa.
This partnership represents a key milestone for Marsa Maroc, which is now strengthening its presence on both sides of the Strait and reaffirming its regional positioning. With 34 terminals across 20 ports, Marsa Maroc is taking a significant step forward in the expansion of its geographical footprint. This agreement also underscores the company’s ability to forge strategic alliances with leading global players.
